May Peace Prevail On Earth {in Japanese}
A peace movement founded by Masahisa Goi in Ishikawa, Japan, grew from small gatherings into the global Peace Pole Project. The movement spread worldwide after 1980 under the leadership of his adopted daughter, Masami Saionji. Peace Poles carry the message of peace, May Peace Prevail On Earth, in the languages of the world. They are recognized as the most prominent international symbols dedicated to peace and have been planted on every continent in over 200,000 communities. The languages presented on this pole symbolize Dickinson’s commitment to inclusiveness, global education and engagement with the wider world.
