Vince ’80 and Mimi Sheehy
Vince '80 and Mimi Sheehy have long supported educational programs and scholarships that improve lives and strengthen communities.
As an undergraduate, Vince majored in economics, studied abroad in France, played varsity golf, joined Theta Chi and built lifelong friendships. After graduation, he earned an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and worked for seven years in marketing and sales. Bringing all of that knowledge and experience to bear, he then entered his family's business, Sheehy Auto Sales, which he has led as president and CEO since 1988.
The business, founded in 1965 by his father, Vincent, supports a variety of charitable organizations, including the American Heart Association, and provides funding for educational programs for underserved students.
Vince is a member of the board of trustees. With his wife, Mimi, the Sheehys have expanded access to education through personal philanthropy, providing scholarships for students in the Washington, D.C., region to attend the Washington Jesuit Academy and Washington School for Girls. They also make a Dickinson education possible for qualifying students, originally through an annual scholarship named in memory of Vince's father, and now through a cohort-based, full-tuition scholarship for students from Washington, D.C., which includes opportunities for mentoring and networking.
